Braun – Community Cuts.
The Black population of the UK is over 2 million people.
But of the 35,000 barbers/hairdressers in the UK, only 302 cater to Black hair.
Within the Black community, hair and expression is so important, with some Black men visiting the barber twice a week.
Barbershops are seen as being more than places for haircuts; they're for community, support, entertainment too.
Which makes shaving products and Braun intrinsically linked to the Black experience.
But, when you leave your own community and go somewhere new, like university, what do you do if you can't see your community represented around you?
Braun will enable young Black men/women to create their own community, filling in the gap of underrepresented Black barbershop culture in the UK/Europe by bringing barbershop styling home.
They’ll provide the tools, support and space for Black students across the UK and Europe to design a part of that community for themselves in their halls and flats at uni.

The Community Maker pack includes Braun’s stylers and other barber necessities, as well as things that’ll bring people together: a cape, a speakers, a neck duster, a deck of cards, etc.
It also provides resources for beginners to learn the basics on how to give someone a trim.
We’ll partner with Afro-Caribbean Societies at Universities to promote the Braun Community Maker kit and to recruit members.
